Our very own Steph and her partner, Michael, conquer this year’s London Marathon!
We’re so proud of our very own Stephanie Green and her partner, Michael, for conquering this year’s London Marathon. Steph finished her first marathon with a time of 4 hours and 31 minutes, raising an amazing £2117 for her chosen charity, the Meningitis Research Foundation. And let’s not forget Michael, who ran every step alongside her, raising an additional £585!
Michael’s personal journey adds an extra layer of meaning to their cause. Diagnosed with Meningococcal Meningitis at just 4 months old, Michael’s quick diagnosis and treatment, thanks to vital research, spared him from the devastating effects suffered by many.
The tragic reality is that 10-15 out of every 100 diagnosed with Meningococcal Meningitis sadly don’t survive. It’s the second-largest infectious killer globally. Plus, 1 in 5 survivors are left with life-altering consequences like brain injury or limb loss. Michael’s fortunate to live the happy, healthy life he does today.
But there’s still much work to be done. Defeating meningitis requires significant funding for research. By running for MRF, Steph and Michael are doing their part to make a difference. Meningitis steals the lives of many children, robs kids of normalcy, and shatters families worldwide.
Both Steph and Michael are still welcoming donations for this important cause. Let’s help them smash their £3000 goal! If you’d like to chip in, visit MENINGITIS RESEARCH FOUNDATION: Stephanie’s London Marathon page on Enthuse.com.
