Vista Extends Market-Leading Frame Cramp Range with New High-Performance Variants
Vista Engineering, the UK’s leading independent wall tie manufacturer, has announced the launch of two powerful additions to its lateral restraint portfolio: the VE7D(T1) and VE7D(T2) Frame Cramps with Drip.
As modern architectural designs demand thicker insulation and wider cavities to meet evolving thermal standards, the need for longer, more robust fixings has never been greater. The new VE7D variants are engineered specifically to bridge this gap, offering reliable restraint for “super-cavity” constructions.
Proudly British: Designed, Tested, and Manufactured in the UK
At a time when supply chain reliability is paramount, Vista continues to champion British industry. These new variants are designed, tested, and manufactured right here in the United Kingdom at our peak-district production facility. By overseeing the entire process from initial engineering to final quality control, we ensure that every VE7D(T1) and (T2) meets the highest British Standards for safety and performance.
A Variant for Every Building Condition
To provide maximum flexibility for specifiers and contractors, the VE7D range now features three distinct tiers:
- Standard VE7D (Type 2): Our classic general-purpose cramp, supplied in lengths from 125mm to 300mm.
- Long VE7D(T2) (Type 2): For wider cavities requiring a standard performance level, now available in lengths from 325mm to 450mm.
- Long VE7D(T1) (Type 1): A heavy-duty solution for high-load applications, also available in lengths from 325mm up to 450mm.
Heavy-Duty Performance: The Type 1 Advantage
The standout addition to the range is the VE7D(T1). While standard frame cramps are typically classified as Type 2 (General Purpose), the (T1) variant has been engineered and tested to meet the rigorous Type 1 (Heavy Duty) requirements.
By utilising a larger section stainless steel material, the VE7D(T1) provides the high ultimate tensile and compressive strength required for high-rise developments and heavy-load masonry where extended lengths are essential.
Quality You Can Trust
Regardless of length or type, all models in the VE7D family maintain the signature features that have made the range a favourite on-site:
- Integral Moisture Control: A precision-placed drip ensures moisture cannot bridge the cavity, regardless of the tie’s length.
- Grade 304 Stainless Steel: Manufactured for maximum corrosion resistance and a service life of at least 60 years.
- Fully Tested: All variants are tested to meet British Standards, ensuring total peace of mind for structural engineers.
“The launch of the VE7D(T1) and (T2) represents our commitment to providing safe, compliant solutions for the evolving building landscape,” says the Vista technical team. “With lengths now reaching 450mm and the assurance of UK-based manufacturing, we can ensure that even the most ambitious insulation requirements don’t compromise structural integrity.”
