Going the Extra Mile: Roz Wood Conquers 26-Mile Trek for Macmillan Cancer Support
On Saturday, 18th July 2026, Vista Engineering’s very own Roz Wood took to the hills of Derbyshire for an incredible cause, completing a grueling 26-mile marathon hike to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Setting off from Bakewell, Roz teamed up with a dedicated group of walkers proudly dubbed the ‘Buxton Hot Steppers.’ Together, they tackled the demanding Peak District terrain, crossing the finish line with an official, impressive time of 9 hours and 40 minutes.
For Roz, the journey was deeply personal. The hike was walked in loving memory of her dad, whom she sadly lost to prostate cancer in 2009. Every step, steep incline, and mile crossed was fueled by the memory of him and the desire to support other families facing similar battles.
Macmillan Cancer Support provides emotional, practical, and financial help to those living with cancer, and Roz’s is hard at work raising as much as possible to ensure their vital work continues.
How You Can Help: We are incredibly proud of Roz’s resilience and dedication. If you would like to celebrate her achievement and support a fantastic charity, please consider making a donation via her secure JustGiving page: Donate to Roslyn’s Fundraising Page
Well done, Roz and the Buxton Hot Steppers!
