Celebrating Excellence: Accounts Manager Roz Wood Achieves Prestigious CIMA Qualification
The Vista Group is delighted to share a major milestone in our accounts department. Our Accounts Manager, Roz Wood, has officially qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant after successfully completing her CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) professional qualifications.
Roz’s achievement is the culmination of years of hard work, grit, and balancing the leadership of our growing finance team with rigorous academic study.
A Career Built on Loyalty and Growth
Roz’s journey with Vista Engineering is an inspiring example of professional development and dedication. She first joined the company in 1999 straight from college as an 18-year-old office junior and accounting assistant after completing a Business and Administration NVQ. Over the years, she confidently took over the day-to-day operations of the accounts department and continued to advance her expertise, successfully completing her AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) professional qualification, which was funded by Vista and studied in her own time.
As the Vista Group expanded under Managing Director Phil Travis—acquiring BPC Fixings and G A Fixings—the financial infrastructure scaled as well. Roz took on the responsibility of heading up the central accounting department, running the day-to-day workload and personally training and mentoring the growing team at our main site.
Overcoming Obstacles to Reach the Top
Recognizing her capability and strategic potential, Phil Travis encouraged Roz to pursue the elite CIMA qualification at the tail end of 2019. While the arrival of the pandemic temporarily closed national exam centres and disrupted her momentum, Roz refused to let the delay stop her.
Through a rigorous mix of home study using online tuition providers in her own time and a bi-weekly study day granted within working hours, Roz worked her way through 12 highly demanding exams covering everything from operational mechanics to high-level corporate strategy, ultimately creating more detailed management accounts for the group.
Her dedication officially paid off when she passed her final Strategic Case Study exam, confirming her status as a fully qualified Chartered Management Accountant.
